In response to the Aug. 7 letter “America left holding the bag,” referring to the bankruptcies President Donald Trump has had, this has been hashed over many times and needs to be clarified.
You’ll notice he comes out unscathed and not broke. Why? Because they are typically tax-savings decisions made by his staff of attorneys and are perfectly legal. The writer’s beef should be with the IRS tax laws, not Trump.
We all look for ways to save money on our taxes and never consider it leaving America holding the bag.
