Suspect in Las Vegas car wash shooting found dead

A person wanted in the slaying of a man at a Las Vegas car wash took their own life Friday afternoon as Metro Police closed in at a southeast valley residence.

Metro surrounded a house in the 4800 block of Sacks Drive, near Tropicana Avenue and Nellis Boulevard, and called for the suspect to come out.

A person came out of the house to tell police about hearing a “loud sound,” prompting officers to enter and find the person they were looking for dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

It wasn’t clear how police linked that person to Tuesday’s shooting death of a man who was vacuuming his car at a service in the 5500 block of Charleston Boulevard.

Police said that the victim and his wife were sitting in the front of the car when a white sedan drove by and someone inside opened fire.

The victim died at University Medical Center while the woman was uninjured, police said.
