6 arrested in theft of copper at the Spaghetti Bowl

A follow-up investigation Thursday into the theft of copper at the Spaghetti Bowl netted Metro Police a half-dozen arrests, thousands of pounds of the stolen wire and a moving truck used to transport it, according to officials.

Rio Hunt, 29, Timothy Grassmyer, 51, Katherine Cole, 42, Michael Fox, 58, Keith Schwingdorf, 55, and William Ralston, 54, were booked at the Clark County Detention Center on counts of injury to property of another, theft of scrap metal or utility property and conspiracy to commit the theft.

The copper was taken from light poles in a series of thefts between Nov. 19 and Wednesday, police said.

The investigation led Metro to a home in the 200 block of West Philadelphia Avenue near downtown Las Vegas where arrests were made, and 6,290 pounds of copper and more than $2,300 cash were recovered, police said.
