Excessive speed apparently was a factor in the death of a 19-year-old motorcyclist in Las Vegas, according to authorities.
Las Vegas Metro police said the man died early Saturday in a collision with an SUV several blocks east of the Las Vegas Strip.
According to a preliminary crash report from police, witnesses and evidence at the scene indicated the SUV was exiting a private property.
Police said the motorcyclist apparently could not slow down or stop and crashed into the left side of the SUV. He died at the scene.
The Clark County coroner will release the name of the man after his relatives have been notified.
Police said the SUV’s driver did not show signs of impairment and remained at the scene.
