Sparks police respond to casino shooting day after stabbings

SPARKS — Sparks police are searching for a vehicle involved in a shooting at a hotel-casino a day after two men were stabbed multiple times inside an adjoining parking garage.

Police responded to the Nugget Casino just before 7 a.m. Monday on the report of shots fired.

Officers say one person may have been caught in the crossfire but no injuries have been reported, according to KRNV-TV. They are looking for a blue SUV with bullet holes.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the shooting was related to the stabbings that left two men in critical condition at about 2:14 a.m. Sunday.

Police identified the victims as Sitani Malufu and Angel Reygadas. It’s not know if the suspects and and stabbing victims knew each other, Sparks police said in a statement.
