2nd arrest made in 2020 shooting of man found in crashed car

RENO — A second arrest has been made in a January 2020 fatal shooting of a man found dead in a crashed car, Reno police said Saturday.

Jacob Gosselin, 34, of Sparks, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of murder in the killing of Edward Long, 48, of Reno, police said.

Gosselin remained jailed Saturday and it wasn't immediately known whether Gosselin he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf regarding the allegation.

Long was found dead in a car that had crashed into a tree on Jan. 14, 2020 and an investigation determined that he'd died from being shot, not crash injuries, police said.

According to police, the shooting occurred minutes before the crash.

Police earlier announced the arrest of Daniel Munoz, 34, of Reno, on Jan. 23, 2020.

Munoz remains in custody and awaiting trial in the case, police Sgt. Laura Conklin said Saturday.

The investigation was continuing and Conklin said she could not comment on a possible motive for the killing.
