The Blue Man Group, a Las Vegas Strip fixture for more than two decades, is back on the scene tonight at 8 p.m., reopening its colorful, musical spectacular in its Atrium Level showroom at Luxor. The comeback is also being celebrated with a pop-up experience at Luxor’s lobby at 5 p.m. Friday, featuring interactive elements from the show and “immersive disturbances,” and the famed Luxor Sky Beam will turn blue for the next couple of days to mark the occasion.

That won’t be the only 20-year-strong Strip show to reopen at an MGM Resorts property this week. “The Mac King Comedy Magic Show” made its debut at the Thunderland Showroom at Excalibur on Tuesday and continues at 1 and 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays after making the move from Harrah’s Las Vegas. King’s family-friendly presentation is a perfect fit at the castle-themed resort and his afternoon time slot is equally ideal leading into the room’s later shows, “The Australian Bee Gees Show” and “Thunder From Down Under.”

Ready to get caught up on the big Vegas concert and show announcements from this week? Let’s do this: Classic vocal group Il Divo will bring the For Once In My Life Tour to the Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay on August 14; Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco has added more Vegas dates at Wynn’s Encore Theater for August 20-21; Former Zappos Theater resident headliner Pitbull will be back in that Planet Hollywood venue with the I Feel Good Tour on September 18; Hip-hop luminary J. Cole will bring his Off-Season Tour to MGM Grand Garden Arena on October 16; The 22nd annual Latin Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on Univision from MGM Grand Garden Arena on November 18; Country favorite Jason Aldean has signed on for a three-night engagement at Park Theater set for December 9-11; The Go-Go’s will ring in the new year with a pair of concerts on December 31 and January 1 at the Venetian Theatre; AFI’s 2022 headlining tour will bring the band to the Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas on February 12; and pop-dance legends Erasure will bring their new North American concert tour to the Venetian Theatre on February 27.

Comedy podcasting duo Desus & Mero, aka Desus Nice and the Kid Mero or the Bodega Boys, will bring their unique, freestyle commentary to the KÁ Theatre at MGM Grand on September 4, another interesting booking at the home of Cirque du Soleil’s action-packed show “KÁ.” Daniel Tosh will perform standup comedy there on August 14. As for “KÁ” itself, it’s the last Cirque production in Las Vegas without a reopening date but it should be back in late summer or early fall. “Mystére” reopens first at Treasure Island on June 28, “O” is back at Bellagio on July 1, “Michael Jackson ONE” returns to Mandalay Bay on August 19, and as announced most recently, “The Beatles LOVE” reopens at the Mirage on August 26.

Las Vegas musician and composer Keith Thompson, known of course for creating the landmark Composer’s Showcase series as well as producing and directing a multitude of musical events around town, has launched a new residency at the newly opened Nevada Room at Commercial Center. Keith Thompson’s Piano Party is going down every Wednesday night from 7 to 10 p.m. through July 28. Reservations are recommended and are available by calling 725-206-7059 or visiting thenevadaroom.com.
