A Pahrump man arrested in Las Vegas on Tuesday for an outstanding warrant was found with several falsified identification cards, among them a fake Department of Defense service card, several debit and credit cards and a forged stimulus check, according to a Metro Police arrest report.
Michael Woodfall, 63, was booked at the Clark County Detention Center for counts of forgery, drug possession, possession of false identification, possession of a credit/debit card holder’s consent, and fraudulently claiming to have received a valor award, according to the report.
The arresting officer was conducting a records check on Woodfall’s vehicle at 12:57 a.m. when they discovered an outstanding felony warrant for failure to appear after posting bond on a controlled substance charge in Henderson Township Justice Court, according to the report. Woodfall was pulled over and he identified himself before being escorted to the officer’s police cruiser.
Woodfall was searched and the officer found two wallets on his person. One wallet contained seven debit cards belonging to other people, among other records, according to the report.
The wallet also contained four driver's licenses — two from Nevada, one from Arizona and one from Florida — with pictures resembling Woodfall, according to the report. Three of the licenses bore a “veteran” identifying mark, and were in the names of people outside of those states.
A false Department of Defense Uniformed Service Card containing a photo resembling Woodfall was also found. The card stated he was in the U.S. Air Force and had an issue date from 1999. The photo on the ID led the officer to believe he was attempting to use it to be an “authorized patron on U.S. Military Installations,” according to the report.
Woodfall was also found with a Nevada voter registration card from Nye County under the name of one of the false Nevada licenses. He was also found with a passport not in his name, a fictitious Social Security card and an uncashed U.S. stimulus relief check in the name of one of the fake IDs, according to the report.
Before Woodfall was taken to CCDC, he asked officers if he could bring a backpack with him, according to the report. Officers said the backpack would be searched, but he wanted to bring it with him anyway.
The backpack contained the stimulus check, along with a container holding 4.8 grams of amphetamine salts (Adderall) pills, 0.5 grams of alprazolam (Xanax) pills and 0.2 grams of tramadol hydrochloride pills, a painkiller.
Woodfall posted bond Wednesday, online court records show. He’s due back in court on Nov. 10.
