The Sept. 5 guest column “Taxing the ultrawealthy can help every Nevada family” was an interesting read.
I understand the frustration of the casino worker who wrote it, but there are some facts she might not understand. Taxing the rich sounds good, but the concept makes me nervous.
Not only are rich people mostly smart, their accountants and lawyers are too. They find plenty of ways to avoid whatever tax levies are there.
According to Martha’s self-described income, she pays very little in taxes.
How about a flat tax that every American pays? All of us — from the poorest to the billionaires, from Jeff Bezos to President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.
