Yes, enough already about Will Smith, except for the fact that one glaring truth is being totally ignored.
Let’s make a little change to the scenario.
A stagehand or a waiter at the Oscars takes offense at Chris Rock’s statements and walks on stage and slaps him.
Is there any doubt that an army of security guards would appear, subdue the culprit and cart him straight to jail in handcuffs?
Think they would just ask him to leave?
Think they would accept a response of, “Get lost”?
This is a perfect example of one of the major defects in the justice system: Rich, powerful and famous people get treated differently than ordinary, working-class Americans.
Think not? Take a count of the number of white millionaires sitting in a prison anywhere in the United States for possession of cocaine or heroin.
