This week, we honor the birthday of a civil rights icon, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
Many of us remember when our own government, through the FBI, did everything possible to discredit this man and made his life a living hell. J. Edgar Hoover showed us the true meaning of the phrase “abuse of power.”
We are now tearing down confederate statues. It is long past time to take Hoover’s name off of the FBI building. We do not honor demigods.
