No truer words have ever been spoken than when Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., stated in her introductory remarks in the first hearing of the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection, “Tonight I say to my Republican colleagues who are defending the indefensible: There will come a time when Donald Trump is gone, but your dishonor will remain.”
The second hearing also confirmed what we knew about former President Donald Trump from the beginning — that he was and still is a con man and grifter who set up a “defense fund” to contest the 2020 presidential election and collected $250 million, much of which went to an organization formed by Mark Meadows and $60,000 of which was paid to his son’s girlfriend for a two-minute speech on election night.
