Las Vegas police: Teen arrested in fatal shooting

A teen has been arrested in the slaying of a man after a verbal altercation last week, according to Metro Police.

A Criminal Apprehension Team, led by the FBI and comprised of Metro, Henderson and North Las Vegas police, took the 17-year-old suspect into custody Tuesday at his home, Metro said.

He was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on a count of open murder, Metro said.

Officers responded about 1:30 a.m. Saturday to a report of a shooting in the 4200 block of Nellis Boulevard, Metro said.

The victim was located with an apparent gunshot wound and taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Metro said.

Investigators believe the victim and suspect were in a verbal altercation when the suspect pulled a gun and shot the victim, Metro said.
