Ron Hornaday wins at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Camping World Truck Series driver Ron Hornaday took the checkered flag for the 51st time in his career in Saturday’s Smith’s 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was Hornaday’s first win at the Las Vegas track. The driver of the No. 2 Chevrolet led 107 of 146 laps in an event that often looked more like a Zamboni race than a Truck Series event. There were seven cautions in the first 60 laps of the race. The race had a total of 10 cautions.

The slipping and sliding started as early as lap two when Austin Dillon hit the wall in the No. 3 Chevrolet. The hot day made for a hot and slick track surface that resulted in numerous spins throughout the race.

Matt Crafton finished second and Timothy Peters finished third.

Below is video of the No. 31 truck of James Buescher, who was a victim of one of the incidents during the race. I’ve also included photos of some of the unusual and humorous sponsorships that are commonly seen in the Truck Series.
