Man arrested on domestic violence, arson charges

Metro Police today arrested a Las Vegas man on eight charges including domestic violence, attempted murder and arson.

Flames ripped through the roof of a rented home in the 5800 block of Christchurch Avenue near Bonanza Road and Linn Avenue about 2:30 a.m., police said. Firefighters battled the blaze and then police began an investigation.

Officers arrested 25-year-old Rodney L. Bagby early this morning, charging him with two counts of attempted murder and domestic violence, two counts of attempted murder and arson, two counts of child endangerment, one count of first degree arson and one count of domestic violence battery.

Bagby's girlfriend, who was not identified, had left the house after a domestic dispute with her boyfriend and father of her children to call Metro, police said. When she returned she discovered some clothing on fire and went inside the burning home to get her children away from the flames.

The woman and children were not injured.
