Rudd, under suspension, won’t play for Findlay tonight

Findlay College Prep senior Victor Rudd has not practiced with the Pilots all week and he will not play in the team’s regular-season finale tonight against Impact Prep Academy.

A standout 6-foot-7 forward, Rudd has been suspended for violating an undisclosed team policy, according to Findlay coach Mike Peck.

Rudd averages 16.6 points, second on the Pilots to guard Avery Bradley’s 18.9 average. Rudd leads Findlay with 8.6 rebounds a game. He’s shooting 33 percent from 3-point land and 51 percent overall.

"Everything's fine," said Bill Hankins, Rudd's guardian.

The 29-0 Pilots can close out another undefeated regular season against Impact at the Henderson International School, with which Findlay is affiliated.

Findlay finished last season 30-0, then won two games in the National Prep Championship at Fordham in the Bronx, N.Y., before losing the title game, 75-73, to Hargrave Military Academy.

The Pilots will be off for about a month before they participate in the National High School Invitational, in North Bethesda, Md., from April 3-5.

Peck will give his players the next week off, and they will reconvene for a slew of intense 90-minute practice sessions on March 9, when Peck expects Rudd to return to working out with the team.

Rudd includes UNLV, Arizona, Marquette and Memphis on his final list of college suitors.
