Singer and actress Pia Zadora performs during a guest stint in “Million Dollar Quartet” on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Harrah’s.

Las Vegas entertainer Pia Zadora suffered a head injury Thursday evening when she fell from a golf cart near her home in Summerlin, her husband, Mike Jeffries, said.

Zadora, 60, is in intensive care at University Medical Center, Jeffries said. She has been in and out of consciousness and is improving, he said.

Zadora was thrown from the cart driven by her 17-year-old son Jordan as it made a left turn on a street near the family’s house about 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Jeffries said.

She suffered a compound fracture of her right ankle and a head injury leading to bleeding on her brain, Jeffries said.

Her performances this weekend and next at Piero’s Italian Restaurant, where she sings with a band led by pianist Vinnie Falcone, have been canceled.

Zadora rose to prominence as a member of the original Broadway cast of "Fiddler on the Roof" opposite Zero Mostel, later segueing into acting and music.

Recently, she has been in new musical review, “Pia Reloaded,” directed by award-winning producer Jeff Kutash, celebrating her career and life.
