Here’s a fun fact about Billy Joel: Steve Wynn once asked him about performing a residency at Encore Theater and even booked Joel to play a New Year’s Eve show in 2013.

Joel declined that Garth Brooks-styled run of shows, saying that he was fine with keeping his schedule fluid.

Another fact about Joel, which is even more fun: He’s playing a single show at T-Mobile Arena on April 30. Announced today is Joel’s only Las Vegas show this year, and only performance in this state, on that date.

Tickets are $99, $149 and $225 (not including fees) and go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. March 11. Go to AXS.com or call (888) 292-7849 to purchase. Those holding an American Express card have access to an early sale at 10 a.m. Monday.

Joel most recently played Las Vegas at MGM Grand Garden Arena in June 2014. He follows the initial performances at T-Mobile of The Killers and Wayne Newton on April 6, Guns N’ Roses with Alice in Chains from April 8-9 and George Strait on April 22-23.

Joel is one of the bestselling artists in history, with 150 million records sold in the last 25 years. He is the sixth bestselling artist of all time and the third-best solo artist.

Joel also remains one of the most popular concert draws in the country and is headlining a run of nine shows at Madison Square Garden from March through June.
