Paging secretary of state’s office: Nine legislators say they never got checks PokerStars claimed it distributed

This story just gets stranger.

I have now identified the nine Democratic Assembly members -- seven freshmen and Harvey Munford and James Ohrenschall -- who say that while PokerStars reported they received contributions, they did not. Bank records have been checked for many of them. How does this happen?

Lobbyist Richard Perkins, who apparently went off a spreadsheet given to him by PokerStars when he filed the report, said he is having Richard Kulis, who filed the PAC for the company, look into the missing checks, which amount to $14,000.

But this is surely something the SOS will have to look into, especially since the company also did not file a final campaign report for the cycle, as required. Perkins said PokerStars only asked for his help with the second report and not the final one.
