What do you call a former building trades boss who has a fundraiser with a GOP operative who has been involved in anti-union campaigns?
Pick your adjective.
That's what Las Vegas Councilman Steve Ross is doing on Thursday, Oct. 27, when he will be feted by George Harris, the relentlessly failing Republican operative who has a reverse Midas touch when it comes to campaigns. As a matter of fact, he ran against Ross for mayor of Las Vegas this year -- or should I say, both were hopeless also-rans in that contest.
Harris has run unsuccessful campaigns against many union-friendly Democrats over the years and was involved in the '90s in so-called paycheck protection efforts in Nevada. The recall Ross folks have had little success in ousting Ross so far. But with the addition of Harris to Ross' team, they may have struck gold.
