Perhaps trying to get on board with a winner even before he is declared such, donors gave $19,500 to congressional hopeful Mark Amodei late this week, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Early voting totals indicate it is almost impossible for ex-GOP Chairman Amodei to lose to Kate Marshall unless thousands of Republicans are snubbing their nominee and voting for the Democratic state treasurer.
His major Thursday/Friday contributors:
Newmont Mining: $5,000
Humana: $2,500
IGT: $4,000
Las Vegas developer John Ritter: $1,500
Jones Vargas: $1,000
Grocery chain CEO Joey Scolari: $1,000
There are no records yet filed with the FEC for Thursday/Friday contributions to Marshall, although she reported $5,500 on Thursday, inlcuding from Connecticut Rep. Rosa DeLauro and TW Telecom, a Colorado-based company.
