David Purcey had nine strikeouts in 7 and 2/3 innings Sunday afternoon to lead the Las Vegas 51s to a 6-4 victory at the Colorado Spring Sky Sox.

Purcey (2-1), who held Colorado Springs scoreless through seven innings, gave up two runs and four hits. Jeremy Accardo recorded the final four outs for his ninth save.

Las Vegas (26-38) scored three runs in the fourth inning, including a RBI single and run scored from J. P. Arencibia, to take the lead for good.

The 51s built their lead to 6-0 through seven innings. Jason Lane doubled and scored on a Kevin Howard run-scoring single in a two-run sixth inning.

The 51s open a four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Monday at the Reno Aces, the inaugural meeting between Nevada’s Triple-A affiliates. Reno is in its first-year of existence.
