The Play of the Day is so far winless in its opening week. I guarantee* that ends today.
If you’re new to this feature, which is probably most of you, check out Case Keefer’s post from Tuesday. He would prefer you ignore the pick, but I suggest everyone make note of it because it’s probably the only time Keefer will be in last place against me and Ray Brewer. For my first pick I’m going NBA.
Golden State minus-11 vs. Boston: $330 to win $300
The Boston Celtics are in a bad way right now. Losers of six in a row and nine of their last 10, tonight is game No. 4 of a five-game road swing. And it’s been pretty rough so far.
The Celtics lost by a combined 54 points at Oklahoma City and Denver before covering in a six-point loss at the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, Golden State returns home after a seven-game road trip that included a victory against Miami.
The Warriors’ only blemish on that trip was a four-point loss at Brooklyn on Wednesday. That snapped a 10-game winning streak and I think Golden State starts another one tonight with an easy victory.
*Much like a bad burrito, guarantees do not exist
Standings: Brewer (0-0-1, $10,000), Bern (0-0, $10,000), Keefer (0-2, $9,500)
