Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.
San Francisco Giants (+110) at San Diego Padres: $500 to win $550 : One of the keys in handicapping baseball is to ride the hot pitcher or team. And the Giants’ Tim Lincecum, after inconsistent play earlier this season, has been on fire his past two starts.
There’s no reason to doubt he won’t continue today against San Diego — a team he no-hit last week. On Tuesday, in his most recent outing, Lincecum was dominant in pitching eight scoreless innings against St. Louis. While the bad TIm Lincecum will surely return at some point this season, it won’t happen against the Padres. He’s no-hit them twice in the past year.
Standings: Bern (33-24-1, $12,019), Keefer (29-34, $8,926), Brewer (22-35-3, $2,435)
