Everyone loves a Game 7.

Perhaps no group is drawn toward the single-game elimination more than gamblers, which swarm sports books in almost every instance and boost the betting handle. The Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point and features $10,000 starting bankrolls, will do our small part in adding to the suspense.

Los Angeles Kings at Chicago Blackhawks under 5 goals at plus-115: $300 to win $345

The Western Conference finals has been one of those series where a quick trip off of the couch to the refrigerator could cause a viewer to miss a couple goals. Like two prizefighters standing in the pocket throwing without caution, the Kings and Blackhawks have exchanged wild doses off offense through six games.

The past five have gone over the total, all by at least two goals. So how could I dare look at the other side?

Well, because over the course of the season, both of these teams were excellent defensively. That sample size is more meaningful than a handful of games in the past week and a half.

With a trip to the Stanley Cup finals on the line, the defenses and goalies are going to be on their best behavior Sunday. They know exactly what their opponents will try to do after a long series and are prepared for it.

Three of the first four games between Los Angeles and Chicago went under this season, so it’s not as if they’re incapable of defending each other.

Standings: Bern (28-19-1, $11,850), Keefer (24-26, $9,088), Brewer (18-27-3, $4,450)
