We’re entering the third season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.
Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won the 2015-2016 season, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015.
Buffalo Bills moneyline minus-105 vs. New York Jets: $525 to win $500
It’s important not to overreact to Week 1 results when you’re looking at the Week 2 slate, and tonight’s game seems like a good opportunity to capitalize on books’ overreaction.
The Bills were originally 3-point home favorites tonight against the Jets, but after both teams lost in Week 1, New York is now a 1-point favorite. The injury to Bills receiver Sammy Watkins is certainly a factor, but I don’t think that’s enough to swing things this far.
Neither team is very good and will have to overcome its quarterback’s mistakes this year. That being the case, I’ll take the home team at a little discount.
Current Standings: Bern (10-7, $11,692), Brewer (11-9, $10,405), Keefer (11-10-1, $9,721)
