Vegas Play of the Day: Falcons vs. Bucaneers

Falcons-Packers

The Atlanta Falcons’ Matt Ryan warms up Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, before the NFC championship game against the Green Bay Packers in Atlanta.

We’ve entered the fourth season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.

Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won back-to-back titles in the 2015-2016 and 2016-17 seasons, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015.

Atlanta Falcons minus-6.5 at Tampa Bay Bucaneers: $550 to win $500

Atlanta and Tampa Bay are both among the league's top eight in passing offense, so there's a decent chance this game turns into a shootout pitting Matt Ryan against Jameis Winston. The difference is, Atlanta has a top-10 scoring defense, while Tampa Bay is in the bottom 10.

I have more faith in Atlanta getting an important stop, and Winston is the more likely of the QBs to make a big mistake. That's enough for me to take the Falcons by a touchdown in this one.

Granger (12-9, $12,819), Keefer (16-17-1, $9,611), Brewer (17-17, $8,570), Grimala (8-9, $8,205)
