The Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James catches a pass Wednesday, June 15, 2016, during practice for Game 6 of the NBA Finals in Cleveland.

We’re entering the third season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.

Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won the 2015-2016 season, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015. Bern stepped away in the middle of the 2016-2017 season with a 16-12 record and $13,317 bankroll, with Mike Grimala taking his place.

Cleveland Cavs minus-4 at Dallas Mavericks, $440 to win $400 : Both teams played Sunday and both had to travel for tonight’s game. Dallas rallied to beat San Antonio on Sunday for one of its best wins of the season. The Mavs, though, have underachieved and won’t be able to duplicate the performance less than 24 hours later.

After a 3-9 stretch, one where LeBron James twice called out teammates and urged management to trade for another playmaker, Cleveland was much improved Sunday in beating Oklahoma City. Cleveland is about to go on a streak of wins.

Dallas doesn’t have the physicality on the interior to match Cleveland’s Tristan Thompson. In the backcourt, D-League call-up Yogi Ferrell will be outclassed Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love and LeBron will have their way with Dirk Nowitzki and Harrison Barnes.

Current Standings: Keefer (36-25-2, $11,561), Brewer (22-20-1, $9,585), Grimala (4-4, $9,550), Granger (9-10, $7,400)
