Los Angeles Lakers’ Lonzo Ball shoots over Los Angeles Clippers’ Brice Johnson (10) during overtime of an NBA summer league basketball game, Friday, July 7, 2017, in Las Vegas.

We’ve entered the fourth season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.

Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won back-to-back titles in the 2015-2016 and 2016-17 seasons, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015.

Philadelphia 76ers pick’em vs. Los Angeles Lakers : $440 to win $400

The nightcap for today’s NBA Summer League slate has lost some luster due to injuries.

No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz is out with an ankle sprain, fan favorite Lonzo Ball will likely sit out with a groin injury and Brandon Ingram is also out after injuring his leg in the opening game. Even if Ball plays, I still like the Sixers to knock the Lakers out of the Summer League tournament tonight.

Boston has been the best team in the tournament and Philadelphia competed well with them last night. Former first-round pick Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot led the Sixers with 16 points, six rebounds and three assists and Jonah Bolden added 13 points and eight boards.

Undrafted Terrapins’ star Melo Trimble has impressed thus far as he fights for a job in the NBA, and I expect a good showing from him tonight.

I’ll trust the process and go with Philadelphia in a pick’em.

Current Standings: Granger (3-0, $11,502), Keefer (1-1, $10,129), Brewer (1-1, $10,100), Grimala (0-1, $9,500)
