Vegas Play of the Day: Seahawks at Rams

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson passes against the Indianapolis Colts in the first half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, in Seattle.

We’ve entered the fourth season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.

Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won back-to-back titles in the 2015-2016 and 2016-17 seasons, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015.

Seahawks at Rams Under 47: $550 to win $500

There may not be a worse unit in all of the NFL than the Seattle Seahawks offensive line. Russell Wilson has been sacked 10 times and he’s avoided a couple dozen more with his quick feet. The 5-foot-11 speedster is constantly running for his life behind the line of scrimmage, and that has led to a poor year for the Seattle Seahawks offense.

It also doesn’t help that the Seahawks’ running game will struggle after breakout back Chris Carson broke his leg last week.

On the other side, the Rams are surprisingly the No. 1 scoring offense in the league with 35.5 points per game. Los Angeles has scored at least 35 points in all three of their wins this season, and Jared Goff has tossed seven touchdowns to only one interception.

However, I don’t think his success continues today against the Seahawks. In his only career game against Seattle, Goff threw for only 135 yards and the Rams were held to three points. Los Angeles is obviously improved this year, and could win the game, but I think it’s a low-scoring game on both sides of the ball and stays under the total of 47.

Current Standings: Granger (6-6, $11,595), Keefer (11-6-1, $11,381), Grimala (5-4, $10,145), Brewer (9-11, $7,730)
