We’ve entered the fourth season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.

Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won back-to-back titles in the 2015-2016 and 2016-17 seasons, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015.

Minnesota Vikings -3.5 at Chicago Bears: $550 to win $500

Minnesota's offense is in a sorry state, with quarterback Sam Bradford in injury limbo (though he's expected to start the game) and promising rookie running back Dalvin Cook out for the year with a torn ACL. But the Vikings still have the makings of a good defense, and that may be enough to beat the Bears on Monday Night Football.

That's because Chicago's offense is an even bigger question mark, with rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky making his first career start. A lack of experience was viewed as one of Trubisky's weaknesses leading up to the draft, so it remains to be seen whether a month of backup duty has gotten him ready to lead an NFL huddle. I'm betting it hasn't, and that Minnesota's defense will make a statement on MNF.

Current Standings: Granger (7-6, $12,095), Keefer (11-6-1, $11,381), Grimala (5-4, $10,145), Brewer (9-11, $7,730)
