Vegas Play of the Day: Rams at Raiders

Carr fumbles vs. Cowboys

Ben Margot / Associated Press

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr (4) fumbles the ball into the end zone in front of Dallas Cowboys strong safety Jeff Heath (38) during the second half of an NFL football game in Oakland, Calif., Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017. The play was ruled a touchback, and the Cowboys got possession. The Cowboys won, 20-17.

Bankrolls start at $10,000 for each of the four participants, with the objective to increase it as much as possible over the next year. The minimum daily wager is $300, with a $200 penalty assessed for failing to place a bet on an assigned day.

Past winners are Case Keefer in 2017-2018, Ray Brewer in 2016-2017 and 2015-2016, and Taylor Bern in 2014-2015.

Los Angeles Rams minus-5.5 vs. Oakland Raiders: $440 to win $400

The Raiders are in turmoil, with a new (old) coach, an overhauled roster and a vacuum left by the shocking trade that sent their best player to Chicago just before the start of the season. On the other side, the Rams spent the offseason adding pieces designed to get them over the hump and into the Super Bowl. As a result of that spending spree, L.A. might have the most talented roster in the league. It's the NFL and anything can happen, especially in Week 1, but the Rams definitely look like they are a touchdown better than the Raiders — even on the road. I'll give the points and take L.A.

Current Standings: Keefer (10-5, $11,418), Grimala (6-3, $10,300), Granger (4-3, $9,225), Brewer (4-7, $7,600)
