Expanded hockey coverage
The ECHL suspended Las Vegas Wranglers' forward Tim Spencer for one game and fined him an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in a 2-1 loss to the Idaho Steelheads on Saturday.
Spencer got into a fight with Idaho defenseman Matt Stephenson in the second period of that contest. Spencer received a fighting major, a game misconduct and a match penalty for deliberating trying to injure an opponent for a supposed eye gauge.
Spencer will not dress for tonight's game in Phoenix.
In other Wranglers' roster news, Las Vegas placed forward Mick Lawrence to the seven-day injured reserve list and moved forward Shawn Limpright to the three-day IR.
