Nevada Health CO-OP to Announce Approved 2014 Insurance Plans on Oct. 1
Published on Thu, Sep 26, 2013 (2:16 p.m.)LAS VEGAS (September 26, 2013) – Today, Nevada Health CO-OP, a Nevada-based nonprofit health insurance alternative created under the Affordable Care Act, announced it will release approved 2014 health insurance plans on its website at the start of open enrollment.
Nevada Health CO-OP is positioned to begin selling health insurance plans within the state of Nevada when open enrollment begins on Oct. 1 for the coverage year beginning January 2014.
A total of 109 plans will be available both on and off Nevada’s health insurance exchange, the Nevada Health Link. Each of the plans will fall into five categories: bronze, silver, gold, platinum and catastrophic. The out-of-pocket costs of Nevada Health CO-OP’s plans may vary per individual or family, based on the amount of subsidies available to them.
In preparation for Oct. 1, Nevada Health CO-OP has launched a newly designed website, www.nevadahealthcoop.org, providing a unique user environment to assist visitors in navigating their health insurance options and enrolling in a plan that best fits their individual needs. When open enrollment begins, the site will feature detailed information about approved Nevada Health CO-OP insurance plans and premiums unveiled by the Nevada Division of Insurance earlier this month.
Nevada Health CO-OP welcomes people to utilize the organization’s redesigned website and staff as resources to navigate the open enrollment process and determine which, if any, subsidies they qualify for. Visitors can access a subsidy calculator on Nevada Health CO-OP’s website to estimate eligibility for federal subsidy assistance. Spanish language materials for Nevada Health CO-OP are also available online.
“Nevada Health CO-OP is excited for open enrollment to begin and we’re ready to help people enroll in coverage to meet their needs,” said Tom Zumtobel, Nevada Health CO-OP CEO. “We designed the CO-OP’s website to make it easy to use while providing valuable information during this crucial decision making process.”
Nevada Health CO-OP’s goal is to make health insurance simple and affordable. In addition to the insurance provider’s online presence, representatives are also available to answer questions and assist community members via phone at 702-823-COOP.
