BENECARD PBF AND CLARK COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS IAFF LOCAL 1908 ANNOUNCE INNOVATIVE PRESCRIPTION BENEFIT AGREEMENT
ORLANDO, FL – The Clark County (Nevada) Firefighters IAFF Local 1908 announced that BeneCard PBF was awarded a three year contract to provide prescription benefits to Local 1908’s 2,900 members and retirees effective January 1, 2014. BeneCard PBF is a leading transparent Prescription Benefit Facilitator (PBF) offering fully transparent and aligned prescription management solutions.
Pierre King, Clark County Firefighters Chairman, noted that “first responders in Clark County cover an area the size of New Jersey and it is the responsibility of Local 1908 to make sure our firefighters and emergency service providers are getting the best services they can to keep the residents of and visitors to southern Nevada safe.” Mr. King added that “we conducted an extensive search to find the best prescription benefit facilitator for our health insurance Trust and are very happy to be working with BeneCard PBF. In early March, Local 1908 issued a Request For Proposal (RFP) for transparent prescription benefit administration. Local 1908 sought an innovative partner with full service prescription management capabilities, an exceptional service background and proven excellence in supporting unions. BeneCard PBF won the contract based upon its practice of aligning the interests of the PBF, client and patient to ensure proper use of medication through innovative clinical tools and an engaged membership while passing through 100% of all discounts and rebates to Local 1908.
