Shopping Guide

If the gambling or nightlife doesn’t bring you to Las Vegas, the shopping probably does. From high-end boutiques to discount stores, the Las Vegas retail scene can be a haven for any fashion-guru.

On the Strip

The Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace are located just off the casino floor at Caesar’s, at the intersection of Flamingo and Las Vegas Boulevard. The shops are decorated with a sky-painted ceiling, ornate statues and fountains. The cobblestone-like floors and changing sky give shoppers the feeling of being outside. It’s easy to see why the mall is one of the most popular on the Strip.

And that’s even before visitors even getting to the 160 shops and 12 restaurants. Shops range from exclusive stores like Harry Winston, Versace and Louis Vutton to staples in every mall like the Gap, Express and Abercrombie & Fitch.

Shoppers can take a break or sit down for a 3-course meal at restaurants like Wolfgang Puck’s Spago, The Palm or The Cheesecake Factory, which can draw a crowd during lunch and dinner hours. But as diners wait for their table, they can watch divers feed the fish and sharks in the 50,000-gallon salt-water aquarium.

The Forum Shops come complete with nightlife too. The popular Poetry nightclub is located on the second floor on the mall and is a spot for visiting celebrities.

Other high-end shopping centers on the Strip include the Via Bellagio with boutiques like Dior, Chanel, Fendi and Gucci, that sit between restaurants like Tood English’s Olives and the famous Le Cirque.

The The Shoppes at the Palazzo added to the already-extravagant shopping scene in January 2007 with more luxury brands like Chloe, Marc Jacobs and Prada and restaurants by Emerrill Lagasse and Mario Batali.

Visitors are transported to Venice at the The Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. Similar to The Forum Shops, The Canal Shoppes have a blue-sky ceiling and cobble-stone-like walkways but with one special detail: a canal that runs through the center of the mall with gondola rides for guests. Storefronts like Banana Republic, Kenneth Cole and Ann Taylor are fashioned like old-world building. Shoppers dine on everything from fast food in the food court to gourmet restaurants by top chefs.

Outside of the shops, visitors are transported to another world again at Tao, an Asian inspired nightclub and bistro.

The Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood are located on the south end of the Strip. The mall is designed in a futuristic style, with a laser light show that greets shoppers ever hour as they enter the complex. Miracle Mile has more than 170 shops, more than 50 of which are specialty shops. Other stores include trendy and affordable spots like H&M, Urban Outfitters and Steve Madden. Shoppers can dine in one of the 15 restaurants at Miracle Mile like the Harley Davidson Café and the Hawaiian Tropic Zone or a quick snack at Auntie Anne’s Pretzels or Ben & Jerry’s.

Off the Strip

Even off the Strip, Las Vegas has much more to offer to shoppers. Las Vegas has two outlet centers for shoppers looking for trends at discount prices. The Las Vegas Outlet Center is located on South Las Vegas Boulevard and offers brands like Adidas, Nike and Tommy Hilfiger.

The Las Vegas Premium Outlets are located in downtown Las Vegas on Grand Central Parkway. The outdoor shopping center includes upscale brands like Dolce & Gabana, Michael Kors, and Armani exchange and popular stores like Ann Taylor, J.Crew, and Banana Republic, all at 35 to 65 percent off.

Located adjacent to Green Valley Ranch Resort and Casino is a metropolitan area of shopping called The District, a combination of restaurants, office space and luxury apartments. The District is broken up into two sides, divided by Green Valley Parkway.

Shoppers can find mix of men’s and women’s clothing, home furniture and specialty shops with popular stores like Anthropologie, Coach and Pottery Barn. Dining includes The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Changs and Panera, along with others.

The District also includes a working a carousel and a central park, where movies are shown outdoors free to the public, every Friday and Saturday evening.
