Washoe District Judge Deborah Agosti Files for Re-election

First elected in 1980, Agosti said she will continue seeking ways to improve court efficiency and promote efforts to reduce delays and costs to litigants.

Agosti, 44, was a justice of the peace for two years before being elected to the district court post. Prior to that she was a deputy in the Washoe County district attorney's office.

She currently serves on the State-Federal Judicial Council and the Federal Civil Justice Reform Act Advisory Committee. She is also a faculty member of the National Judicial College in Reno.

"I am proud of my record on the district court bench and I look forward to the election in November," Agosti said in a written statement.

"I am eager to dedicate my energy and experience to the tasks of dispensing justice and continuing the search for ways to increase efficiency without sacrifice to quality."
