Bank heists linked to one individual

The FBI is asking for the public's help in locating a bank robber they say stuck up six banks in five months.

The robber wears a baseball cap and sunglasses and displays a black semiautomatic pistol when demanding money from tellers.

The first heist was Oct. 10 at the U.S. Bank at 948 N. Nellis Blvd. The second was Oct. 12 at the American Federal Savings Bank at 1775 N. Decatur Blvd. The third was Oct. 27 at the American Federal Savings Bank at 4016 S. Rainbow Blvd. In this incident, the robber wore a fake ponytail and mustache.

Another American Federal Savings branch, at 5085 E. Bonanza Road, was robbed Dec. 4, again by a man wearing a fake ponytail and mustache. On Dec. 22, the Nevada State Bank at 2017 N. Nellis Blvd. was robbed by a clean-shaven man.

And, finally, a man wearing yet another baseball cap and sunglasses held up a teller March 27 at the U.S. Bank at 6175 W. Sahara Ave.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call Secret Witness at 385-5555.
