Dersch sentencing postponed

Andrew Dersch will be sentenced for attempted burglary at a downtown casino later this month.

The convicted petty thief's sentencing was postponed Wednesday by Clark County District Judge Bill Maupin.

The 39-year-old former casino slot manager pleaded guilty to the felony charge and faces up to five years in prison. He has a criminal history that includes burglary, drug use and failure to pay child support.

Dersch gained notoriety after he was arrested by three Metro Police officers who later were accused of battery and fired. While the physical violence charge was dropped, the former cops are on trial for other alleged offenses related to Dersch's arrest.
