Don’t let Kiel Ranch fall victim to the wrecking ball

However, there have been times when elected representatives ignored the verbiage and letters. There are even instances where the public was not aware until the demolition was under way.

Kiel Ranch on Carey Avenue, just west of Lossee Road, has been allowed to deteriorate and burn with part of it demolished city work crews. Part of the property now is occupied by a business.

At 7 p.m. on April 17 at North Las Vegas City Hall, a decision may be made whether to preserve and provide historic signage of this site. Kiel Ranch was a weekly destination of the Las Vegas Youth program 20 years ago.

You citizens who know that only on a base of historical tradition can stability be built, please attend. Be present to help maintain some of the roots of this metropolis, declaring historic sites, from which a dynamic community has risen, be maintained.

The first Whitney School was demolished without a word to the Clark County School teachers.

Las Vegas councilmen and mayor, do insist that an information sign be placed at the former Las Vegas High School and the 5th Street School when you order signs for 5th Street from Stewart Avenue south.
