This year’s event will be Haworth’s rodeo Fair-well

The Clark County Fair, which begins Thursday in Logandale, will honor Jim Haworth for his years of dedication to the Clark County Fair PRCA Rodeo.

Haworth, a lifelong Nevada resident, will hang up his spurs as Clark County PRCA rodeo chairman after running the popular event since its inception in 1975. It was recently ranked among the top 10 percent of America's rodeos by the Professional Rodeo Cowboy's Association.

"We are proud of the Clark County Fair PRCA Rodeo. We have been able to increase the purse and we now draw some of the best professional cowboys on the American rodeo circuit. It all started on little more than a boot-strap and a lot of faith and determination by people like Jim Haworth," said Fair Chairman Ace Robison.

Haworth, a retired rancher, has for years ridden his prize black stallion in the rodeo grand entry.

This year's rodeo begins at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5:30 p.m. Sunday. For ticket or general information, call 594-FAIR or call the fair office in Logandale, (702) 398-3247.
