Las Vegas man stabbed to death in dispute

A Las Vegas man was stabbed to death early today when he got caught in the middle of a domestic dispute, police said.

Metro Police were called to 2816 Richfield Blvd., near Valley View Boulevard and Sahara Avenue, at 2:12 a.m. They found a man inside the house who had been stabbed once in his upper chest. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died shortly after surgery, police said.

A woman who was in the process of getting a divorce had moved into the house temporarily with two male friends while the court action was being finalized, police said.

Police said her soon-to-be ex-husband, Daniel Walter Corcoran, 31, had argued with the woman Monday afternoon and had returned while she was sleeping. He entered the house through a rear door and was confronted by a man sleeping in the living room, police said. They fought and the victim was stabbed. A second man also was stabbed and suffered minor injuries, police said.

The victim's identity is not being released until his family is notified.

Corcoran was last seen by witnesses running from the house, police said. He is described as 5 feet 8 and 160 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.

Police are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to call homicide detectives at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
