Low wages, high prices mean the Depression is coming back

I can still remember going to bed hungry many times when I was a child. How many reading this letter can? Today, it looks a lot like those days are returning.

The government broke up AT&T which was a monopoly. Now they are allowing a merger, or a mega deal as the news item calls it. I call it monopoly and a violation of our antitrust laws.

This is not the first violation in the last few years. I have just found out that in Santa Barbara, Calif., the price of one gallon of high-octane gas is $2.19. Congratulations to Shell, Chevron and all the other oil companies as the rich get richer.

How many gallons of gas can you buy on the minimum hourly wage?
