TV show helps find man who sought help for Chris Trickle

Police planned to interview the man in Southern California Tuesday.

The man surfaced after a segment on the shooting was aired on the television show, "America's Most Wanted."

The mystery man happened on the scene of the shooting late the night of Feb. 9. The man, who has not been identified by police, flagged down a bus that happened to be carrying a paramedic and a doctor. The man left the scene after emergency crews arrived to assist.

When the television show aired Saturday night, the man called an 800 number for the show and said he was the person who sought help. Police want to interview him to see if he can provide any clues as to what led up to the shooting.

Trickle was shot in the head. He has undergone surgery twice and is now in a rehabilitation hospital. Family members say he is opening his eyes and has movement in his arms and legs.
