Poker for charity at Binion’s

Computer poker players who think they know best when to hold them and when to fold them will have a chance to prove themselves today at Binion's Horseshoe.

David Sklansky, one of the nation's foremost gaming experts, will play a volunteer from BARGE, a group of poker playing Internet users, in heads up action for charity.

The action will begin 2 p.m. in the pavilion outside the main poker room at the Horseshoe.

Barge members will bid for the privilege of playing against Sklansky, author of 18 books on gambling published by Two Plus Two.

The wining bid will be donated to the charity of the winner's choice.

Win or lose, the bidder will receive a complete set of autographed books by Sklansky including "Hold 'em Poker for Advance Players," "Seven-Card Stud for Advanced Players" and "The Theory of Poker."
