Man who was released mistakenly faces charges in robbery that went awry

Doyle Swarm, 32, professed his innocence Wednesday in his initial appearance in Justice Court.

He is being held without bail on two counts of murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary with the use of a deadly weapon, six counts of robbery and evading a police officer.

Police say Swarm was one of three men who allegedly robbed Doc Holliday's Saloon here on Aug. 16. Minutes later a car carrying three suspects crashed, killing two of them.

Swarm was treated for minor injuries, then arrested. He was released from jail because of a paperwork snafu, and has been the subject of a search since that time.

Police say Swarm was staying with relatives in Winnemucca, Nev. until they urged him to turn himself in, which he did on Saturday.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Lt. Larry Spinosa said the two murder charges were filed because under Nevada law, people who participate in a felony that results in death can be charged with murder.
