Samuel Isaac Bakus, 86, of Las Vegas died Nov. 25 in North Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 15, 1912, in Iran. A resident for several years, he was a waiter and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one sister, Lillian B. Rhodes of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 8:30-9 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Celeste Wesner Buck

Celeste Wesner Buck, 27, of Las Vegas died Nov. 26 in Las Vegas. A resident for three years, she was born Sept. 7, 1971, in West Covina, Calif.

She is survived by her husband, Sean of Phoenix; three sons, Matthew Allen Wesner of California, and Jonathan and Ryan Tyler, both of Texas; her parents, Ralph and LaVerne Wesner of Las Vegas; six brothers including her twin brother, Curtis Ralph Wesner of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Walter Kolodziej of Minneapolis, Paul Wesner of California and Ralph Wesner, Joseph Wesner and Andrew Wesner, all of Texas; four sisters, Cynthia Wesner and Charlotte Jones, both of Texas, La Verner Kolodziej of Nebraska and Rose Ellen Robichaux of Mississippi.

Hattie G. Chiles

Hattie G. Chiles, 96, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born June 17, 1902, in Holdenville, Okla. A resident for 56 years, she was a homemaker and a member of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by one son, Clarence; one granddaughter, Janice; one grandson, Glynn; and one great-granddaughter, Jamey.

She is survived by one daughter, Sarann Knight Preddy; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Zion United Methodist Church, 2108 N. Revere St., North Las Vegas. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Shirley Flaster

Shirley Flaster, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born March 21, 1917, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 43 years, she was a child-care provider.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Clark, Blanche Flaster and Judy Anne Flaster, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Morris Hoffman of Maryland; one sister, Sylvia Goldstein of Florida; and two grandchildren.

Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Ricky S. Frost

Ricky S. Frost, 28, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 24, 1970, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was disabled.

He is survived by his father, Dennis Frost of Hurricane, Utah; his mother and stepfather, Suzetta and Harold Loveland of Las Vegas; one brother, Tommy Frost of Bangor, Calif.; and his grandparents, Buz and Mary Smith of Las Vegas and Herb and Nancy Frost of Springdale, Utah.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Joan Hilton

Joan Hilton, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 10, 1919, in Widstoe, Utah. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, J.D. "Donn;" one son, Jerry Hilton of Richfield, Utah; two daughters, Carol Kentish and Betty Kinsey, both of Las Vegas; two stepsons, Joseph Donn Hilton II and Daniel S. Hilton, both of Dolores, Colo.; two brothers, Lawrence Frandsen and Keith Frandsen, both of Panguitch, Utah; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 1 p.m. services Monday in the Mountain Vista LDS chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Marguerite Kaplan

Marguerite Kaplan, 78, of Henderson died Monday in a Pittsburgh hospital. She was born Nov. 17, 1920, in California. A resident for several years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Frederick J. Kleiger of Cheswick, Pa.; one stepson, Robert Kaplan of Midlophian, Va.; one brother, Vahan Khacherian of Grand Terrace, Calif.; one sister, Virginia Bond Frause of Glendale, Calif.; two granddaughters, three step-grandsons and one step-granddaughter.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Bertha Christina Kerr

Bertha Christina Kerr, 91, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 7, 1907, in Loniconi, Md. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired hospital nurse.

She is survived by one daughter, Jean Case of Las Vegas; two sons, Dick Kerr of Studio City, Calif., and Bill Kerr of Simi Valley, Calif.; one brother, Oscar Hohing of McKeesport, Pa.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-5 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the New Life Christian Center. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Harold Rae Morehead

Harold Rae Morehead, 59, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 15, 1939, in Glendale, Calif. A resident for 26 years, he owned and operated a contract maintenance company and was a member of Daylite 44 F&AM Masonic Lodge, Experimental Aircraft Association and National Speleological Society.

He is survived by his wife, Orinne J.; one daughter, Suzanne J. Morehead, and one son, Harold D. Morehead, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Priscilla A. Hegner of Apple Valley, Calif.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 4400 W. Oakey Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Louise R. Neglia

Louise R. Neglia, 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 23, 1935, in New York City. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired loan processor.

She is survived by one sister, Josephine Neglia of New York.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Peggy Jean Pate

Peggy Jean Pate, 59, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 16, 1938, in Paducah, Ky. A resident for 10 years, she was a nurse.

She is survived by one son, Brian Pate of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Briana Pate of Roswell, Ga., and Shannon Miller of Las Vegas; her father, Barney Ferguson of Oklahoma; one brother, William Ferguson of Hobe Sound, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 10:30 a.m. today in Bright Angel Church of Christ. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Candelaria Saavedra

Candelaria Saavedra, 92, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 2, 1906, in Colombia. A resident for 28 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Helena White of Miami; three sons, Agustin Bernal of Cali, Colombia, and Jaime Bernal and Alfonso Bernal, both of Las Vegas; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 6 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Ismael R. Santiago

Ismael R. Santiago, 64, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 26, 1934, in Puerto Rico. A resident for three years, he was a chief steward, a member of the Merchant Marines and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Juvy; three sons, Anthony Ismael Santiago of Las Vegas and Ismael Santiago Jr. and Frank Javier Santiago, both of New York; two daughters, Rebecca Laudensack and Paula M. Santiago, both of New York; his father, Pedro Santiago, three brothers, George Santiago, Bevin Santiago and Victor Santiago, and three sisters, Gloria Santiago, Paquita Santiago and Isabel Santiago, all of Puerto Rico.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Amelita 'Amy' Sayas

Amelita "Amy" Sayas, 50, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 4, 1948, in the Philippines. A resident for 20 years, she was a registered nurse at University Medical Center for the past 17 years.

She is survived by four sisters, Anglina D. Sayas of Camden, N.J., Conchuta D. Crisologo of San Jose, Calif., Rosita D. Brezanin of New Jersey and Rosemarie Burgonio of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Manolito D. Sayas of the Philippines and Rolando D. Sayas and Wilfredo D. Sayas, both of New Jersey.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 7p.m. Friday with a 6 p.m. rosary Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Mass will be celebrated 8:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Graveside services will be noon Saturday in Bunker's Memory Gardens.

Dixie Marie Van Kirk

Dixie Marie Van Kirk, 48, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 27, 1950, in Pineville, La. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, William Trayal of New Caney, Texas, and Wayne Trayal of Houston; six sisters, Thersa McClish of Onalaska, Texas, Lynn Ryder and Jackie Morace, both of Pineville, Sharon Khardigi of Columbia, S.C., Kay Bucher of Las Vegas and Vernie Gilmore of New Caney; eight brothers, David Chandler of California, Chuck Chandler, Dan Chandler, Marcell Chandler and Mark Chandler, all of Pineville, Nelson Chandler of Houston, Ike Chandler of Bunkie, La., and Adrian Chandler Jr. of Pollock, La.; and four grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Faye Wilson

Faye Wilson, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born June 7, 1932, in Walnut Township, Ohio. A resident for two years, she was a retired nurse's aide.

She is survived by her husband, Charles "Rich"; one daughter, Terri Wilson-Guadalupe of Las Vegas; three sons, Rick Wilson and Steve Wilson, both of West Lafayette, Ohio, and Mike Wilson of Las Vegas; one sister, Joan Berongi of New York; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Word of Life Christian Church. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

William Wayne Wilson

William Wayne Wilson, 70, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 22, 1928, in Sheridan, Wyo. A resident for 15 years, he was a shuttle driver for a car rental agency and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Pamela Kline and Maria Jendro, both of Montana; his mother, Leona Piazza of Las Vegas; two brothers, Howard Wilson of Sheridan and Carl Neumiller of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Henderson.
