Police check for motive in shooting outside casino

North Las Vegas Police are looking for two suspects and a motive in Wednesday's early morning shooting of a man who walked out of a casino with a group of friends.

DeMarllo (cq) Donahue, 24, of Las Vegas, was listed in fair condition at University Medical Center late Wednesday with a bullet wound to the left hip, received in a barrage of gunfire near the valet parking lot of Texas Station.

Lt. Mike Blackwell said Donahue, Doreon Grace, 22, of North Las Vegas, and two unidentified females were followed out of the casino at around 3 a.m. by two black males described as in their early 20s.

"One of the two suspects opened fire on the four victims," Blackwell said.

Ten to 12 shots were fired, all from the same type of weapon.

Blackwell said investigators don't know who the intended victim was or why the group was fired upon.

There is a possibility it could be a gang-related incident, he said, but at this point in the investigation that is only speculation.

"Texas Station security is reviewing their (surveillance) tapes to see if we can get a better ID of the two suspects," Blackwell said.

He said the two women left before police arrived.
