The hotel said its Treasures of Mandalay Bay Museum includes a $40 million permanent collection of rare gold and silver coins, colorful and unique Old West bank notes and historic Nevada mining town memorabilia like gold bars and assay receipts.
Casino Treasures LLC, creator of the museum, said the $100,000 bills were produced in 1934 and intended only for use between banks as the highest denomination paper money ever issued in the United States. Only a handful are known to exist today, the museum said.
