Company banned from selling ‘laundry globes’

A Florida company that said it produced products that altered the molecular structure of water to get clothes cleaner in the laundry has been banned from doing business in Nevada.

The state Attorney General's Office sought an order in District Court forbidding TradeNet Marketing Inc. from selling the Laundry Solution, the Laundry Solution Globe and the SuperGlobe with Booster in Nevada.

The attorney general was among representatives of 10 states that alleged misleading claims by TradeNet and its top executives, L.W. Cooper, president, Alberto Guerrero, vice president, and Erwin Annau.

The court filing says TradeNet, which was selling the laundry devices for $75 each, agreed not to promote its products in Nevada and the nine other states. The company also agreed to pay $89,583 to the attorney general of Arizona, the lead attorney in the case.

The Federal Trade Commission also ordered fines totalling $155,000 for the companies and their officers.

"Tests show that these gadgets do little more than clean out your wallet," said Jodie Bernstein, director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection.

TradeNet officials could not be reached for comment.
